Last summer my brother moved out of state, hours away from me. I had a hard time dealing with him not being around because we were very close. I still miss him very much but I know we will always be close.

Never Ending Rain
You had to go and that is understood.
Things just weren’t right here for you.
The feeling you have given me
Has left me alone, standing alone.
I’m almost certain that you can see.

During your absence it has given me time
To think of ways I can escape this.
To run away from the pain.
Nothing ever seems to work
It’s almost like a never ending rain.

With you there and me here standing alone
I worry for the day to come
The day when we are further apart
You won’t be there in the coming year,
To help me through things, but you’ll be in my heart.

There is also a fear of being detached,
Of being separate for so long.
We have progressed through the years.
The times we have shared merely brightened my day
And now all I can do is shed the tears.

The hurt that I am feeling right now,
I know that you can feel it inside.
But I want you to remember that once it’s through,
You’ll always be my big brother,
Someone whom I will forever look up to.

Thank you for this poem! My big brother and I have not spoken to each other in almost 3 years now, because he and his wife are unwilling to mend the things that have torn us apart.

Wow, this poem touched me. My cousin Cesar died 6 years ago from food poisining. He was only 10. He would have been 17 now, a few months older than me. He left my cousin Junior and me behind. We were like the 3 amigos. We were unseperrable. When he died, Junior and I seperated. Now he's locked up and I've been searching for a poem to send to him. Maybe he'll understand that he's not a kid anymore. his next crime he'll be charged as an adult. Thank You for writing this.

My Brother, John, passed away 3 months ago and even though he was a year younger than me, this poem touched me. It is a lot of how I am feeling at this point in time. Thank you.

Oh My GOSH! I cried when i read your poem. My brother left 10 years ago to go back home to his mom's in Fl. (i'm in NY), and i haven't seen or heard from him since. (i'm a teenager)This poem touched me so much, i don't think you have any idea. I'm keeping a copy of it with me at all times. Thank-you for sharing your poem with all of us.
